Originally from the Wirral, David Southern is now resident in Northumberland after living for many years in the Surrey Hills. He has been photographing landscapes and nature from around the world and is never happier than battling the elements in pursuit of his passion for outdoor photography.
Having worked for the World Wildlife Fund, he is well placed to understand how our runaway demand for natural resources is threatening the environment we depend on. His passion for the natural world is reflected in much of his photography and he has collaborated on recording WWF’s conservation projects in Colombia, Malaysia and South Africa. He works full time as a photographer, leading 1 – 1 and small group workshops and is currently working on a project to capture the landscapes of the Northumberland coast throughout the seasons.
His work has featured in many books, magazines and exhibitions. David has won awards in a number of competitions and is an experienced public speaker. He is also a member of the Parhelion Photography Collective.
